Unveiled in 2018, Chivas Regal XV is a 15-year-old blended Scotch whisky finished in casks that once held Grande Champagne Cognac, a practice that whisky makers are increasingly embracing, and one we think brings lively fruit notes and rich oak to the forefront. On the nose, it opens with vibrant orange and peach aromas layered over juicy barley. The palate reveals butterscotch, red apple, and a hint of caraway, with a subtle grain sweetness in the background. It concludes with a generous finish of warm vanilla and ripe pear, making for a beautifully balanced and expressive dram.
