It has a deep, intense ruby color with youthful purple rim which will fade into garnet with time. The bouquet is a complex coming together of dark, ripe cherries, dark, tart plums and fruit cake-like cinnamon and cloves with fresh red mulberries and youngberries. A nose very typical of a good Pinotage. The taste is the succulence of the sweet fruit-flavours, beautifully-balanced tannin structure and friendly acidity make this an incredibly moreish wine. Complexity is found through layers of different fruit characters with an overall gentleness and enduring aftertaste. Possibly best at an age of around three to five years, but should last well into double digits with some respectful cellaring.
