Another wonderful grape from Greece, Moschofilero is a white wine that is grown in the Manteneia region of Greece. This wine is off-dry, medium-bodied, and has medium acidity. It has unique flavors of almond, lemon, melon, grapefruit, flowers and perfume. This wine is best drunk young or aged up to three years in the cellar. This wine is traditional drunk in the afternoon with traditional Greek foods like Gyros, lox, cucumber salads, goat-cheese, and fruit-based desserts. This wine is only produced in small quantities around Greece each year. Because of this, you rarely see Moschofilero outside of Greece. Specialty shops and large international liquor stores may carry it if there was enough of the wine to export that year.
